The FireFly Eco Retreat offers a large variety of activities. We arrived in Shimoni looking for accommodation and after checking out reef resort which we were not too convinced by, as soon as we saw Fire Fly Eco Retreat we knew it was for us. Although it was closed when we arrived, we asked the owner Hiten to let us stay and his team prepared the tent for us at the last minute which we were so grateful for.
Wasini Lookout in only an hour's drive from Diani Beach. We spent the Christmas weekend there with friends and had one of the best times ever. We stayed in one of the two front tents which have been built overlooking the bay in front of Wasini Island. Each front tent has its own deck for beautiful sunrise and sunset viewing, and each also has its own veranda
I decided to move from diani to Shimoni in order to get away from the noise, beach vendors and be closer to the attractions. There’s lots to do here from caves. stand up paddle, snorkelling, diving, village visits, swim in the huge pool or simply just chill. Location is great as I didn’t have to travel hours from Diani or Mombasa to board the boat to kisite or wasini, didn’t get hustled by vendors. It was quiet.
